"We are doing great with the Rotobrush. I have jobs lined up for the next two months. One important reason for this is that the jobs feed on each other: the janitorial work leads to carpet cleaning which leads to air duct cleaning and vice-versa. And this is both commercial and residential work. A typical job takes about 3 hours - we take the time to make sure that we do a very thorough job.
The Roto-Vision is an important part of our work. I videotape the air duct cleaning process using the Roto-Vision, and I leave the tape so that the customer can show the tape to neighbors. This is what generates word of mouth. Word of mouth is very effective in generating leads - do a good job for your customers, and they will lead to more jobs from their friends and neighbors. Then, I follow up with my customers a short time (a few days) after I complete the service, to make sure that they are satisfied and to see if they have anyone that I should call to offer my services. I offer cash for referrals, but my customers are almost offended that I offered the cash - they are happy to give me referrals, because I did a good job for them at a reasonable price.
I also advertise the Rotobrush as a part of my ads, because it is the best equipment available for air duct cleaning.
When I was looking at adding air duct cleaning, I looked at an air duct cleaning franchise. But, after getting the details, I thought, why do I want to spend all that money (it was expensive) and then continue to pay franchise fees? I could do it on my own, pay less up front, and be better off by putting more money in my pocket every day. That's when I bought the Rotobrush.
I've had the Rotobrush for four months. The first couple of jobs took a long time, but as more jobs were completed, it got easier and easier to do a better and better job. I even had an HVAC class from the local Community College watch me clean the ductwork in a house - they were really impressed with the Rotobrush and the way the ducts were cleaned.
